Vitamin D Test
This test measures 25-Hydroxyvitamin D, the key blood marker used to provide insight into your vitamin D status. Vitamin D plays an important role in bone and muscle health and supports normal immune function. 25-Hydroxyvitamin D (25-OH Vitamin D)
Before testing
You do not need to fast for this test. However, avoid a high-fat meal for at least 6 hours before collecting your sample, as fatty meals can affect sample quality.
Vitamin D supplements
If you take prescribed vitamin D supplements, check with your prescriber before testing. They may advise pausing them for 24–72 hours before collecting your sample, because recent supplementation can temporarily raise your vitamin D level. Do not stop prescribed supplements without speaking to your prescriber.
Hydration
Drink water as normal before testing, as good hydration can make finger-prick collection easier.
